I second Roger's comments Jim

Keep up the good work, without which we would not have contests to enter.

Hello Jim,
Nil desperandum, old chap - your efforts are hugely appreciated by the vast
majority. Those who simply don't understand and therefore say uncaring
things are a tiny minority. Just bin such messages and press on with the
good work - PLEASE!

There does seem these days to be a trend towards posting to reflectors when
a 1-to-1 e-mail might be more appropriate. And . . . some praise and thanks
for our volunteers wouldn't go amiss, either.

Robert
Several people emailed the CC to let us know of the problem and by the time
your email was received I believe the resolution was in hand.
Why the barbed comment, why not a simple email alerting us to the mistake
so it could be put right?
You must realise the work that is put in by the many volunteer committee
members who keep the society going.
As an example I clocked up 150 hours last year, mostly on 80m CC, IOTA
adjudication and attended two weekend meetings.  If I am not sacked by the
CC chairman for this email, I hope to do the same this year!  I love every
moment of it but comments like yours can turn the whole experience very
sour.
I had just finished a four hour stint preparing for 80m CC adjudication
and setting up 200 IOTA certificates when I came across your mail.  Any
idea how foolish you can feel after putting in all this time for others,
sacrificing time with the family, and seeing such a comment?  That 150
hours could be spent with my family, spend more time looking after our Cubs
and Scouts or even better spend more time actually contesting rather than
hunched over a PC adjudicating for hours on end.
If you are convinced of our incompetence and have more time to spare I am
sure the Society's GM would love to hear from you, you could help to put
things right!  As I said earlier there may be a vacancy on the CC after
this.

I will close this email with a line from* YOUR* QRZ entry and I quote,

"Politeness matters, enjoy the hobby."

here, here!

Jim,  MM0BQI
