It appears that I have inadvertently upset Chris and I wanted to try and set the record straight.  I have tried to reply to Chris directly but my messages have all bounced back and so there seems to be no alternative.  I apologise for replying here.

Chris,

I have just seen your mail re BERU and was astonished to read that I had caused you QRM.  From the tone of your comment and the public presentation, I can only assume that you believe that this QRM was deliberate on my part.

Can I assure you that this is completely wrong.  I am left uncertain of how and when this may have happened but please be assured that I always respect and try to practise good operating techniques and am very mindful of choosing a 'clear' frequency before calling CQ.  I always call QRL, at least twice, before commencing a CQ on a new frequency and would have immediately QSY'ed if I had been aware of QRM, especially to yourselves.  My entry into this contest was a 'casual' one, to support the BERU 'cause' and my intentions were always to offer my log to the adjucators as a checklog.  I have no reason whatsoever to deliberately cause QRM to 'our' headquarters station.

I apologise for any QRM that might have occurred but assure you that I was not aware of causing it.

Best 73's,

Brian Gale
