[UK-CONTEST] Jones Plugs for Rotator

To add to the confusion, it seems that the current range of G450 - 650 -
1000 rotators use a further different plug. It's connections are in a two by
three layout, with three round pins and three square pins.

It sounds like there are more variants of the Jones plug than I was
previously aware. I actually have a Yaesu G-800S rotator controller in my
shack which uses one of these difficult to source Jones plugs. I will try to
describe it. It contains two rows of three flat blades with the two rows
separated by 7mm. The three columns of blades are also separated by 7mm. The
flat blades in each row are all in line except for one blade in one corner
which is rotated through 90 degrees to provide polarisation.

I've returned from an expedition to a rarely activated corner of the garden
shed with a box of 27 6-pin Jones plugs and sockets. There are, as
commented, 2 types, each consisting of 2 rows of 3 blades. The rows are
about 6.5 mm apart, on one type all the blades are in line with a
separations of about 6 and about 8 mm between the columns (this provides
polarisation), the other type has one column of blades with the blades at
right angles. Neither type has any polarising prong. I have 1 plug and 20
sockets of the first (in-line) type and 4 plugs and 2 sockets of the second
type (with 2 blades at right angles). Rather old surplus, but free to a good
home if they're of any use.

Mouser Electronics seem to have a good stock.

Strictly these are miniature Jones plugs, there are also regular Jones plugs
that are
about twice the size, these are unusual.

Yes, as I already said "off-list" to Bob and Dave, I thought that at least
one of the pins should be at 90 degrees.

The RS URL is:

s-plug-bracket-mount/2508947979.aspx

But all the pins are all in the same orientation.
