The revision does bear some compromises the major one of course being retention of the 12 hour duration which period does not lend itself to 5 bands for many outside uk so the international appeal will be limited. Perhaps continental awards would help with that.
I would favour 24 hour with a 12 hour section because it would be difficult to make such a major change from 12 to 24 hour event at a later stage once the event became established.

Let us hope that committee will pay some earnest attention to this proposal, I am sure that they will not welcome individual messages from members,  making our views known here  will hopefully have some impact.
