Great idea, I'm all for a new RSGB contest, especially if the 21/28 dies.
Can I throw something else into the melting pot?
Prefixes are quite an easy concept to understand, so why not make UK
prefixes the multiplier for overseas entrants, let them count
on each band. There's quite a lot of UK prefixes and it may force the
English stations, espicially G3's and G4's
to work that little bit harder, which isn't an altogether bad thing!
In the original proposal I don't think UK to UK QSO's should count, it
could become too much of a domestic contest.
Whatever the final format is decided on, I'd have a bigger points
differential for overseas stations working UK, perhaps something along
the
following lines:
Objective:
Everyone works everyone with an emphasis on working UK stations.
Exception UK to UK QSOs do not count.
Bands: 80 ~ 10
Points:
Overseas entrants:1 point for QSO with same continent, 3 points for
QSO with different continent, 10 points for QSO with UK stations.
UK entrants: 1 point QSO with Europe, 3 points per QSO outside Europe.
Mutlipliers:
Overseas: UK prefixes (e.g. 2E0, G0, G1, G2, GD3, GU4, MM0, MW1, MU6)
UK: Overseas prefixes
Exchange:
RS(T) report plus a progressive contact serial number starting with
001 for the first contact.
Scoring:
Total points from each band multiplied by the number of different
prefixes worked on each band. i.e. Prefixes count on each band.
