[UK-CONTEST] Conventions

I'll "show my age" ........... First VHF Convention I went to was at the
"Winning Post", somewhere in west London. It soon moved and expanded, being
held for many years at Sandown Park race course. There may have been another
venue in the interim.

There seemed to be more traders then, giving it the feel of a rally as much
as a convention with talks and awards. There were some excellent specialist
VHF-UHF stands from the likes of Mutek and Piper Communications.

Good Old Days !

Not forgetting the good old days of the VHF Conventions.

Though, for the life of me, I can't remember the location,.

Well, it is over 40 years ago, since the last one I went to!

It was a great weekend but a there were some unfortunate clashes of talks
and serious overcrowding.

I would have thought some sort of, single camera, IP video streaming would
be possible for at least some of the events, at minimal cost.

Cheers

Tony
