Have a look at GMDX for a medium sized event.........well run, decent venue
at a reasonable cost, beer, restaurant, parking etc.

And that of course is exactly the way the GQRP convention (on this
Saturday) works. Originally in George's church hall, now in a school with a
small gathering for a builderphon or chat on the Friday night. I have never
been there myself but it has quite a large following in its own field - I
understand the pie and mushy peas is the star attraction..
