rsgb_lf_group at blacksheep.org used by the LF people still works but it
seems there is no moderator in charge - anything that needs moderator
action like unsubscribing a no longer used email address just goes into
a black hole. It uses a very old version of Majordomo and is
effectively unmaintainable. A replacement LF group has been set up on
Yahoogroups which works well, but some members are reluctant to give up
black sheep for some reason.
There is nothing wrong with the lists at uk-contests, they are largely
well maintained and work well although some find the joining process
confusing. Not sure one run from the RSGB website would be any better.
Also although some of you like forums there is a strong desire for
email reflectors with many of us - and Yahoogroups (at leaast for them
moment) probably offers the best compromise between fora and
reflectors.
I am in favour of splitting, but it should be a new separate VHF one
and this one should stay as is for HF (since a lot of us were here long
before the CC was combined).
