No maths needed Derek!

The ARRL Antenna handbook says "remain clear of any HF amateur band 
resonance the longest unbroken length should be 10% less than a half 
wave (or multiple of) on the highest frequency" i.e.14ft. There's a 
table in Ch22-13 showing lengths of (ungrounded) guys to avoid 
resonance. If 24 MHz is ignored then it seems that 38ft. doesn't 
resonate on any of the other bands.

I saw a good demonstration of a resonant wire at the GPO Ongar HF 
transmitting station (now long since QRT) when a feeder post guy wire 
wasn't bonded to its ground post and was arcing in time with the CW 
transmission. (I bet that caused some TVI in the local vilage).
