Yes a very good point about the safety aspect Ken.
Regarding the 2230 finishing time I fail to see the logic of those who
argue for its retention because of the 'busy last half hour'
Surely if the contest finished at 2200 then the 'busy last half hour'
would simply start at 2130 instead!
Of course keeping the same start time would mean a two hour contest
but that would make very little difference to the majority of
participants.
Those stations who are able to maintain pile-up conditions for the
full two hours would be top of the table anyway even if they couldn't
work all the available stations!
The end time will never change but I will keep on nagging about it!
