[UK-CONTEST] use of phonetics in contests

You want to try it with a two letter siffix....during some contest
conditions it can be a real hindrance particularly with US and newer UK
stations who keep asking for a third letter....or worse, get tired being
told they have it correct so they ADD what they THINK your call sign should
have and duly disappear!

Then you get the "M4JR" or finally "G4JR" by which point I'm toying with a
razor blade up and down my wrist thinking "why do I bother?"

Mind you - then there are the people who scream "Pirate" - have they never
heard of a call book?

:-)

I can't even get

Golf Three Yankee Sierra Xray

copied correctly on the local repeater let alone under QRM on HF.

The most common misread is

Golf Three Yankee Foxtrot Xray
