I can't see this surviving the "challenged" lobby. e.g. my xyl, perfectly fit, is 5 ft nothing with no chance of getting anything on those racks unaided. And if that's not enough, it'll only take one "incident" as you describe . . . Anyway BA has always been my airline of last choice, so no prob unless the rest of the world thinks it's a good idea.
