I've often wondered what could be accomplished by someone who took the "Snowbelt
to Sunshine Turnpike" in January. Now THAT would be an adventure!

Shameless plug: Imagine having your laptop (or Palm) connected to a GPS and a 2m
FM transceiver, CQing every 5-minutes on 147.585 while others lurk, waiting for
you to show up on their HamIM screens! As you approached them (came within
simplex range), they'd know it first and work you as you continued your
travels! Talk about efficiently operating! :)

Here's hoping you do it some day (even without HamIM <grin>). Very cool!

PropNET: If the band is open and no one is TXing, does anyone hear it?
HamIM : Messaging the all-ham way, find Rovers as they go to play.
That HamIM, that HamIM -- I'm sure you'll like that HamIM.

Ask me about either. I'll send a URL and you can join the fun, too!
