If you're interested in an antenna where you get your materials from the
local DIY store, you should check out a Moxon Rectangle that I built. It's
about 7' wide and less than 2' deep and made out of 3/4" aluminium angle
stock. The gain of a 2 element yagi, the f/b of a 3 element yagi and direct
50 ohm feed. Plans can be found at http://www.intac.com/~mherson/moxon.htm
and the theory is on the W4RNL page.

Thanks Mark, I have already stumbled across your web-site. And yes all, I
am building this for a rover ops. I'm playing around with a couple of ideas
for something lightweight but offer a little some gain and directivity.
Scott, KI5DR, are you going to drop by scenic overlook sometime during the
contest? I'm probably heading up there for a while myself. Don't have an
ETA or a route set right now.
