I wasn't able to justify new stuff to add bands above 432 so by using a
little patience and keeping my ears open, I was able to add 1296 for about
$500, including a new 55 element loop yagi, 1 5/8 feedline, and 100 watt amp
parts. 903 was cheaper, less then $400 for 10 watts and 2 used 33 element
loop yagis. I already had the rigs for IF sitting around. This isn't
typical but asking the right people and not being in a hurry helps a bunch.
If you have a knack for electronic repair, post on the ham releated sites
for broken, or older transverters that are gathering dust. It has worked
for me more than once.
