Fellow VHF Enthusiasts:

The results for the 2003 CQ World-Wide VHF Contest appear in the June issue of CQ Magazine. With superb conditions in last year's contest, activity took a sharp upturn with nearly 5000 stations working at least two stations.

The announcement for the 2004 CQ WW VHF Contest also appears in the June issue of CQ with the contest to be held July 17 -18. This is a 6 and 2 meter only contest, so you can be competitive without multi band capability. Newcomers to VHF contesting are especially encouraged to join in the fun.

NEW PLAQUE PROGRAM: CQ is pleased to announce sponsored plaques to the highest scoring stations in various categories. This is a a really neat 9 x 12 inch walnut 2-color on polished brass plaque with unique artwork that any winner will be proud to display. Plaques are sponsored with the donor's name and call, club name, or business entity engraved on the plaque. A sample plaque will be pictured in the VHF column of the July issue of CQ. Potential plaque sponsors are urged to visit the CQ homepage:
http://www.cq-amateur-radio.com and click on "Contest Rules and Info," then "CQ World Wide VHF Contest" to "VHF Contest Plaque Program" for full particulars.

The 2004 contest is receiving world-wide publicity so we look forward to another great VHF contest. Don't miss out on the fun. 73,

John Lindholm, W1XX
CQ VHF Contest Director
