[VHFcontesting] Who has had both IC-910H's and TS-790A's?

Todd,

I have had a 790 and my Dad has an IC-910H.  Both radios have great
attributes.  Obviously the 910 is newer with all the gadgetry that comes
along with being a Y2K+ rig.  I must say after having a 790 though that they
are wonderful as well.  The receivers are VERY hot and these are used very
often for microwave IF rigs.  One word of caution-- I got rid of two 790's
because they were just old and I had problems finding parts for them.
Someone who is enclined could probably find sacrificial rigs to use as
parts.  Remember that these rigs are getting dated and you probably should
expect to have the 790 as a project rig at some point, because they are not
easy to fix in some cases.
