fwiw...here is a great example of where APRS can do much to help get Rovers noticed by multi-ops (multiops are the only contest-legal consumer of APRS information) and HamIM can help get noticed by everyone (it's oK for everyone).

Rovers without schedules or with schedules that are likely to slip can benefit from the "onboard beacon".
