Maybe it varies from area to area. In this area there are very few Techs,
if any, on the weak signal modes on VHF+. I don't know of any who are
active on 2304 and above. As Jim said, I'm not saying this to slight anyone;
it's just my observation.

In the last couple years I've done a couple presentations at our local club
on VHF+ weak-signal work. In the last one I did, I even set up two
3456 MHz stations across the room and let people work me on that band on
SSB. The end result was no one becoming active or even asking me how they
could. But I keep trying ... I talk about it a lot on the local repeaters.
And I'll probably be doing another local presentation this year.

directly repesent the real population of VHF weak signal. Before I up
graded a number of years ago, the major thrust of my operation as a
technician was weak signal. My favorite band was and still is six meters.
I enjoyed many hours of operation on 2 meter SSB and FM simplex operation.
Most of those who I worked were technicians.

meetings but do not forget to the local schools. We need to get younger
people involved in Ham radio/WS.

Those who don't will not.
