Hi Chet.   I understand your point, I don't disagree.   Its my
understanding that the League interprets this rule to apply to any
situation where a Single-Op gains assistance by some external means other
than by direct radio communications.    Using Internet data (radar,
spotting nets, etc) could be considered gaining assistance by external
means.  Again, not necessarily my opinion here, but it is what I believe
that the League believes.   Using a partial check database on your own
logging PC software, or a tool to determine bearings, is not assistance by
external means.

I think N9DG's suggestion about pulling the Internet plug during the
contest is a very good idea (given this interpretation of the rules).
Perhaps having a single-op assisted class may add to our contest growth and
fun.
