First I will say for the most part I have not been following this issue.

I have however been wondering one thing.

Is there something about JT65 that requires that you have assistance
to make contacts? Something that is diffrent than what you would do on
CW?

Or is it that the realtime sechdules and assistance combinded with
JT65 just make the contact process so much eaiser that it has
stimulated activity?

As I said I have only seen one or two messages about this so maybe
this was covered before.  I however would like to understand this
point.

I have never made a JT65 QSO - it has been on my list of things 
to do but I have not done it yet.
 
I have made 6 CW EME contacts, all random, all with a single
non-elevating yagi. Five of those were on one moonrise. Maybe I was
just luckly but it was not that hard - it had the same feeling as
working weak long path dx on 160 or 80 meters.
