[VHFcontesting] 902 vs. 903

Just the way things are done I guess .... Generally, East of the Mississippi, 903, West of the Mississippi 902 ....  most transverters will work the 1 meg spread providing the IF Radio can handle it ....

This question has probably been answered before but I can't seem to find the
answer.

 

33cm transverters seem to be either 902 or 903MHz, not both. So I guess I
need to pick one.  On the West coast (Northern California), which is used
more frequently and why?
