And Frank has just showcased the "problem". Please define "Assisted" so that you-all are speaking with the same understanding.
Hey...while you're at it, define "spotting", too.
And, before anyone else tries to compare VHF to HF contests, know that there are plenty of ambiguities for HFers, too. In the latest Contest Rate Sheet, there are articles about (a) how close to the edge of a band you can operate withtout having some of your signal "out of band" and (b) the lengths that some folks to to make sure their clocks are accurate to allow them to start calling CQ at the moment an event begins and (c) how does one calculate "operating time" in contests that don't allow you to operate for the full event.
