I’m not sure what learning curve you are on. We are talking about the principle of having a balanced set of rules where people can enter a category with the expectation of competing with others who operate in the same fashion.

It is widely accepted that operating as a team of individuals in a convoy is much different than entering the contest as an individual who is not part of a caravan that will guarantee a minimum score by simply following each other down the road to grid corners and working each other.

Do we need to have an intelligent debate while this is different than an individual rover? Maybe I am missing something here.

Duffy had some good questions about the other station and the web page. I thought he used the canopy station with the truck on some of the east coast roves and roves about 5 years ago but has since changed the behavior, tactics and equipment when it was not producing wins. IE the recent photos do not show a vehicle with a camper. I am curious if my impression is correct.

That being said it was quite commendable for an individual to pack up his gear drive 2500 miles to compete and then go back home. There is good in the fact that one guy built 10 stations to share with others. Its too bad that all that gear mostly talks to itself and is not used to help the VHF community as a whole to create random QSOs all over the region they are employed. In the way they are being used today, they should be in the Unlimited category by the ARRL’s stated intention of the rules. And with all that effort he/ they deserve to win that category.
