To reinforce K9JK's recent post on the Spring Sprints, the upcoming events provide a great opportunity to see if distance scoring is workable in the US.  Please everyone get on for one or more of the Sprints this year. Please also provide comments on the scoring method, likes and dislikes, etc.

The rules can be found at:

http://groups.google.com/group/springsprints/web/2010-announcement-rules

Dates and times for the Sprints:

144 MHz - Monday, April 12, 2010, 7 to 11 PM local time.

222 MHz - Tuesday, April 20, 2010, 7 to 11 PM local time.

432 MHz - Wednesday, April 28, 2010, 7 to 11 PM local time.

902 +   - Saturday, May 1, 2010, 6 AM to 1 PM local time. Please note this coincides with MAD in May, so you can run the activity day and submit a log to Sprints.

50 MHz  - Saturday, May 8, 2010, 2300Z Sat to 0300Zm Sun.

Please use a 6 digit locator wherever possible. Do not worry about the log program scoring correctly, just send in a Cabrillo format log, and the sponsor's program will be able to handle and calculate distance scores. Paper logs are also acceptable, but electronic is strongly preferred. Logs should be sent within 2 weeks of each contest (exact dates in the rules).

Also, please note a new rule for rovers - recontact in the same 4 digit grid is allowed, but only the longest QSO will count. This is meant to encourage successively longer contacts with the rover.

Have fun!
