Thanks to all for the comments off these two yahoo group pages.

I have located the original DEMI controller that takes care of the job nicely. Should be here tomorrow.

Out of all the suggestions that I received, the prize has to go to Malcolm G0MIC.

His solution was clean and innovation. I tip my hat to you.

"The easy way to do this is to apply some negative bias to the ALC line. I built
up a little circuit using a 555 to generate a square wave that is then rectified
by a couple of diodes to give a negative voltage that is then regulated by a
zener diode and tapped down using a multi-turn potentiometer. The circuit runs
continuously to avoid spikes in the power output. Works beutifully and you can
still use the power control to fine tune the result if required."

I thought I'd share this with the group in the event they ran into the same issue.

73 to all and thanks again for the help,

Paul, KE1LI FN41

Hi Guys,

I'm trying to drive a 1296 Xvertr with my TS2000 but the lowest I can power the rig is 5W. Does anyone have any insight?

BTW..... I'll be on the bottom 4 (maybe 1296 if I can get up on the band) from FN41AU.

73 and lets's hope for some propagation.
