Actually I think that is probably written as an example and not saying
that those are the only frequencies you can use.

And what about 145.500 - 145.800 where FM simplex is also allowed?
There is a lot of FM simplex activity around Houston in this area.
Mainly because all of those stupid echo and IRLP nodes on 146.400 -
146.600 & 147.400 - 147.600 have driven everyone away.
