[VHFcontesting] QSL cards for K4N in EL84....

Hello everyone....I have just started with the design of the QSL cards
for the K4N DXpedition to EL84. It is going to take me at least a week
more to get the designs finalized and off to the printer. SO, be
patient, I am working on it.

I had a long chat with Joey-W5TFW, our QSL Manager. He is quite adamant
that there will be NO LOTW, now or in the future. He did do LOTW for
the first EL58 DXpedition and maybe one of the small ones after that.
He told me that it was a nightmare and he was NEVER going to do that
again. LOTW seems pretty stupid. It loaded all the logs that he sent
into the same grid, even though the log files clearly showed another
grid. It took the help of an LOTW expert to work all that out. LOTW
also put all of the entries under Joey's personal account....so his QSLs
and the QSLs for K5N were all grouped under him. This is just plain silly.

This decision was Joey's, not mine, although I agree with it. I have
said before that I would not interfere with what Joey does. He is the
QSL manager, so he is the one that has to live with it.

HENCE, if you want a QSL card from EL84, just send Joey one of yours
with an SASE. NO SASE means NO QSL. Joey has already said that he has
received several cards with no envelope at all, never mind an SASE.
Joey does not have the time nor the inclination to address 1400
envelopes by hand....and he should not have to. In addition, Joey is
not going to pay for your postage.

ALSO, please send your QSL card requests to Joey, not to me. I don't
have any cards to send out....Joey will have the blank cards when I get
them to the printer. I have already received a couple of K4N QSO
requests that were sent here to me.

I hope that we did work you from EL84....we certainly did work a lot of
folks this time. Maybe we were able to move EL84 down the Most Wanted
list a few pegs....
