Mike - ur right on the mark - or should I say "spot" ;-)
I don't have APSR or twitter either but it's simpler and cheaper to activate
twitter to get those rare grids.
Your "spot" method helps pointing/timing the searchlights. I maintain that
you still have to make the contact using your own radio station.
Otherwise, we may as well use ILRP, ie; ham radio without the radio....
