Moderator: Tom Holmes, N8ZM

Speakers:

Rick Campbell, KK7B, VHF Maker--Technology Harvesting and Spin-Off
Designs

Jeff Wadsworth, KI5WL, Easy 10 GHz Transceiver without Unobtanium!
A basic 10 GHz transceiver is easy to build. This presentation describes where to get the
materials, and how to do it quickly and simply. No unobtainium or million dollar lab
equipment is required. Several of us in the Arizona Microwave Group built this 200 mW
rig and have used it for contacts as far as 525 km, and then upgraded the basic
configuration for more performance. I look forward to seeing you on X band this fall, we
like more microwavers!

Mike Kana, AA9IL, Newbie Explorations at 24 and 47 GHz
This talk covers my experiments to activate 24 and 47ghz including parts scrounging and
equipment testing.

Ed Krome, K9EK, Homebrew VHF amplifiers – modern style
In keeping with the Hamvention® "Makers" theme, hams have always been builders,
fixers, re-purposers. Homebrew is simpler and more interesting than ever. Amplifiers
have always been a favorite project. Old tech: tube-type VHF amplifiers. Large, hot,
dangerous, challenging to build and tune. Modern marvel: high tech, high gain, high
power solid-state devices that are easy to use and forgiving, and cheap. And circuit
boards readily available. Describe with show and tell: 6M, 2M and 432 amplifiers; 1watt
in, 500+ watts out, 1 transistor.

Zack Widup, W9SZ, Building 47 GHz Transverters From Scratch

Tony Emanuele, WA8RJF, Assembling a 10 GHz Portable Station

Terry Price, W8ZN, K8GP - VHF Contesting Run Amuck! How the K8GP (Grid Pirates)
Crew built their latest contest super-station

Alternate: Dave Sublette, K4TO, A 5760 Amplifier project
