I was going to chime in with the same.  Great GPS, but outdated.  Got
a nuvi 750 to "replace" it but despite the color touch screen, there
are things the V did better.  Like show Maidenhead grids!  And more
stuff on the main display (that I could configure).  To my knowledge,
Garmin has never put out something equivalent to the V.  I'll trade
the touch screen for more functionality.
