[VHFcontesting] UHF Contest, bands and the name

I'm fine with keeping 222 in the "UHF" contest.   Having a contest without 50 and 144 MHz is nice IMHO and it gives me more time to focus on the higher bands.   Activity on 222 is so light that I believe we should be encouraging the use of the band where ever possible.  That being said it wouldn't be the end of the world for me if 222 was dropped but I hope the rationale would be better than trying to match the current name of the contest to the bands being used.   A contest that only featured the true UHF bands (432, 902, 1296 and 2,300 MHz) would be very different than the current UHF contest and I don't believe it is reasonable to cut out 222 and the bands over 3,000 MHz just to match the arbitrary "UHF" designation. 

If the goal is to attract newer hams who only have FM then I definitely believe the contest should include 222 MHz.   Keeping 222 in would also help rovers who want to operate while in motion.

Regarding the name if we are worried about the "222 is not a UHF band" argument, then call it the "222 MHz and up contest ."  This would also deflect arguments that the bands over 3Ghz are also not UHF bands. 

 Personally I really don't mind what the contest is called as long as it actually takes place (un like this year) and has a reasonable date and rules.
