All,
Through the efforts of Bruce Horn, WA7BNM, the ARRL web upload page will
accept 10 gigahertz logs. Bruce's email to me this morning along with a
link for a Cabrillo creator is found at the bottom of this message.
The system is not yet capable of calculating distances, so as before please
prepare your submission after performing your own distance evaluations and
summarizing your results as you have in the past. Bruce's tool will allow
you to attach standard documents which would typically be attached to an
email, such as a Cabrillo log file, dat files, Excel files, doc files,
Etc. This will allow us to review your supporting documentation via the
web uploader without having to send a separate email if there's any
questions about scoring calculations Etc. We are hoping that for next year
a Cabrillo formatted file evaluation system can be a hundred percent
supported for distance calculations- so if all users use a standard
Cabrillo file format with six digit grids an automated calculation can be
done.
For those needing a distance calculation tool, one is available at
http://contest-clubs.arrl.org/griddistancecalc.php
Regarding rounding, at present our policy for the 222 MHz & Up Distance
Contest and the 10 GHz & Up Contests is to use distances in full kilometers
- not decimal values - and therefore to not round down. So for example,
when we do a calculation of a value of "25.1" ,we round up to "26". We
don't recalculate/reevaluate all entries, so when doing your own
calculations please round accordingly.
Please contact me with any questions.
Good luck out there this weekend and in the September weekend.

Hi Bart,
The 10 GHz and Up Contest score summary and log file upload form is now
live. A list of submitted summaries/logs will be able to be seen on the
Logs Received page. I've also added a Web-to-Cabrillo form on my
b4h.net/cabforms web site for this contest for those who may want to create
a Cabrillo log.
