The antenna transfer relay operates from the 9 volt bias line. Would need to figure out what would be needed to operate the relay with the voltage being lowered. It may work on 5 volts? Mike

#yiv4833294956 P {margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0;}The M57762's will keep getting harder and harder to get. They were great in their day but are very old technology.. I know people have retrofitted the newer LDMOS modules for older bipolar units but I'm not saying it's easy in every case, just something to look at.. Sounds like Terry W8ZN has actually done the swap in his FT736 with greatly improved performance so, since Mike has the same rig I would seriously look at this as an option.. required a 3 terminal regulator change, not sure about the pinout.. I know the MOS devices run more efficiently so I expect more power with less heat woo hoo!
once again just another "voice from the wilderness"...

Subject: Re: [VHFcontesting] need Mits M57762 1296 amp module Mike, Instead of continuing to search for the old bipolar module I think I'd try to "modernize" and rework your amp to use one of the modern MOSFET modules like the Motorola RA18H1213G. (The M57762 is probably 30+ year old technology.) RF Parts has the RA's for $71 and you can probably find them cheaper.. still from the US instead of Italy or who knows where.. It's not a "drop in" but easily retrofitted and requires a bit less drive for a bit more power..  my $.02   bill, k1DY From: VHFcontesting <vhfcontesting-bounces+callbill=hotmail.com at contesting.com> on behalf ofk3sk at buckwalter.co <k3sk at buckwalter.co>
