I think you hit the nail in the head, all a ball game, basketball, football, soccer baseball, all play with a ball. However you don’t see people mixing basketball and football on the same score card.  All ball games but a different skill set and score model.

ARRL will never figure it out because DXCC on 160m and VHF does not understand that too.
