Well, after a relatively warm day, I got up to the shack at 23:30 and
fired things up. It was 39 inside the room at first, but when the big
diesel started up, the baseboard heater started warming up and I also
have a small electric space heater under the operating bench to warm my
toes.  The speed regulator on the diesel is working well.  Good steady
AC power. (YAY!!!)

2352 UT WA1RKS    FN32  Ellis just got a new 222 setup running!
2357        K2RMX    FN20  in sunny downtown Brooklyn. very good sigs on SSB

0013        N2SLO    FN30   Peaked at 57 with heavy QSB
0015        K1OR    FN42  (sort of)  John was actually in EL87 operating
remote!
0023        WA3NUF    FN20   SSB peaking at 57
0027        WA1NLG    FN41  waaay out on the Cape.  Good signals with my
beam aimed SW.
0033        W1XR        FM19  406 miles  always a great signal  57 on SSB!
0036        VE3KG        FN24   100 watts and  11 el.  Good signal on
SSB too.
0038        N1JEZ        FN44    59  no matter where my beam is pointing!
0041        W1GHZ    FN34    Paul  on SSB
0045        N1GLT        FN42   Very loud from Derry, NH ( commonly
referred to as the Derryarea )

0055        N3RG        FM29   easy contact on SSB.
0058        VE3DS        FN03   57 on SSB!!  This was a very enhanced
path. Many times we have trouble on CW.  Last night was ragchew time on
SSB!!  440 miles
0113        K9MRI       Indiana CW sked. I could tell he was there on
two sequences. Also heard one big meteor ping.   Not a contact. around
750 miles
0126        K1DY        Very loud on SSB   Great to hear Bill.
0138        WA3EOQ        FM09        Some QSB but needed only one
repeat.  503 miles  I think my only CW contact!!
0152        K2AEP    FN32    Peaking at 58 to 59 with Pete running 15
watts.

Somehow, I missed W1JR and I quit just before 0200 UT (9 PM)  so I could
also play in a 160 meter QRP sprint. I never did try with KO4YC.  All in
all, it was a pretty darn good night on 222! Signals seemed great in
some directions.    The 160 sprint was difficult. No good DX was worked
although I heard many more that could not hear me!
