Buddy

Thanks for the note. Is there someway you can fit a 222 yagi there? The
extra 10 dB really helps and will extend your range enough to make some
decent contacts. I was just at the N4SVC club house and looked over
their VHF setup. Steve promises to be more active this summer and can
make contacts up into N Carolina or so on 222. I know that WA4GPM has
gear as well in Jacksonville.  I am hoping Buzz makes more appearances
this summer as well. They are both  in EM80 and have a single yagi on
222.  It is fun to try working N4SVC in the summer. We have made a
number of MS contacts on Tuesday nights.  If you can get a bit more
power and a yagi then a contact is possible. We are 1180 miles apart.
100 watts and a yagi will do it. 10 watts and an omni is a stretch
though! Keep us posted.  I can transmit in your direction if you let me
know on the ON4KST Chat page on Tuesdays. I can normally do MSK144 or
FSK441.

April and May is tropo season across the gulf.  That must be a hoot if
you can set up schedules with someone in TX!  The omni would be great
for that!
