Activity was way up last night on 222. Worked 18 stations in 13 unique grids. Conditions changed every few minutes, so it was always a surprise how easy or difficult each new contact was to work. Working K3SK in FM07 on SSB was a good example. Dave is usually an FT8 or really weak CW contact at best for me. Last night he went from in the noise to Q5 on sideband over the course of our QSO.
6 meters has been open every day this week, and reports of a house in NJ only 20 miles away from my QTH getting hit by a meteorite on Tuesday piqued my curiosity on how active meteor scatter was these days. I left the radio on overnight tuned to 50.260 MHz and found a ton of activity had occurred between 1:30 AM and 4 AM. A little too late for me but it's got me thinking about trying this mode sometime in the near future. A pre-scheduled nap will be required to make this possible.
The following is my log for 222 last night. Tuesday evening from 7PM to 9PM is a lot easier than the graveyard shift. Hope to see more local stations getting on and joining the fun.
