Life is hard. Last week, my tower mtd 222 preamp was killed while I was trying to operate on Tuesday during a thunderstorm. It snuck up fast. I think rain static killed the front end. I was gettig lots of static before it had started raining!!  In just a few minutes things gotreally bad and I noted a severe drop in signal strength when the preamp was hit. I vacated the pace ASAP.  In the meantime, I caught a bad cold and am not able to talk much and feel miserable. I will try to be on for a few contacts, but my receiving ability has been wrecked when I lost the preamp.  It looks like maybe some CW and FT8 might be possible if the storm didn't kill the computer.

I have not been able to contact WD5AGO (who made the cavity preamp) Maybe he changed e mail accounts, but I have not heard back from him about how to go about repairing the preamp.   Tommy, I am looking for you!!

Don't forget, tonight is 222 Activity night and the excitement starts around 7 PM and continues until after about 9 PM local time or later as you go Westward. That is 23:00 UT start time.  Get on 222.100 and look for any and all contacts.  The ON4KST Chat page works well for setting up skeds.  Use 144/432 Region 2 Chat.
