Hello Rick,
I am very sorry, but I was pretty tired last night and missed trying a
contact with you. NC1I and W1QA were here all day and we changed the
portable EME system from 432 to 1296. There was a lot of running around
with that, and after they left, I figured that it was a good idea to
haul firewood into my wood shed. I was beat by 8:30 PM local time and
pulled the switch just as you came on the air. I am very sorry as it
would have awakened me. It was slow at 8:30 with no takers for meteors
or Q65, and I was having trouble propping up my eyelids.
The good news was that I worked 25 stations by 00:30. They included the
same ops as worked by GB Ron WZ1V plus a few others. I missed K3SK and
did not get a chance to run with him. I did work WB2RVX, N1GLT, and WW1Z
and W2RMA among others, and the activity was fast and furious for
awhile. I also found out that Milford, CT is world famous now for two
reasons. #1 is that K1PXE has chosen to live there, and #2, there is now
a brewery there that makes a great non alcoholic IPA beer. (Athletic
Brewing) What are the odds?
Signals seemed not so strong typically, but there was little QSB from
what I saw from here in Mumbo Jumbo land. I am also hearing rumblings
from the secretive 222 MHZ Activities Committee that they are working on
a new plan to honor one of our very own 222 operators. More details
coming soon.
