The wife and I just arrived home from our quarterly trek into civilization to pick up supplies. It is 7PM and I am exhausted and don't even have the ambition to turn on the 222 rig. Anyone that needs FM07, go ahead and log me, I won't tell.

See everyone next week on what could be a very exciting Tuesday.

Subject: [222Activity] It's 222 Night

That means unbridled excitement on the airwaves that include the area around 222.100 MHz. Time to get on and exercise that gear. Many folks have been saying that they will get on so here is your time to put up or shut up. We all try to get on and make noise after dinner. In the NE, it starts around 23:00 UT and continues until everyone gets tired. In the midwest that is around 02:00 UT.

I have been dutifully removing rocks and dirt up along Route 112 in NH in an effort to remove Mt. Moosilaukee, which stands at almost 5000 ft.
It blocks several paths up into Vermont and the 222 MHz Activity Committee has tasked me with its' removal. Well they took another look at it and my progress to date, and figured that maybe a better plan was to modify Mt Moosilaukee along the lines of Mt Rushmore and turn it into a national attraction. They have told me to change the plan and turn it into a statue to honor a giant among 222 MHz operators, Pete Motyl, K1PXE. Well, I looked through all my photos of Pete, but the only really good photo is from a New England Telephone Company.annual picnic way back in 1972. The photo shows K1PXE doubled over a metal stair railing late in the afternoon. His outline in that pose is quite similar to that of Mt Moosilaukee right now, so that eliminates a lot of earth and stone removal for me. So I got busy adjusting and taking a few measurements, then digging and jack hammering and have made some amazing progress and have the better part of the nose completed. To be more exact, I have pretty much finished digging and blasting out both of Pete's nostrils. I am enclosing a picture. It should appear on the 222 Activity Group, but will get stripped from NEWS and VHF Contesting I am afraid. I hope you can see it.

Remember to get on tonight and use the ON4KST Chat page for liaison in setting up any long distance skeds or just letting folks know that you are there. We use the 144/432 Region 2 Chat. I hope to see you on 222 tonight.
