Hi all,
I have a complete set of 4 Lunar Link amps available. 50, 144, 222 and 432.
All have antenna relays attached and each has its own 1500w Coaxial
Dynamics wattmeter.
There are two power supplies and a box that allows up to 4 amps to be
connected to a single power supply (only one transmitting at a time unless
you hold the power down to 500w or so. For a multi-two set up, 6m could
have its own power supply with 144, 222 and 432 sharing or 2m could be the
primary, just depends on your set up.
For those not familiar with these, they are without a doubt the finest
VHF/UHF amps ever made. Steve, K1FO, did a masterful job in designing and
building these. They run a pair of 3CX800A7's in parallel. 6m is a
traditional Pi tank, 2m through 70cm use flat plate lines. All RF
components are silver plated and unlike SSPA's that need an SWR protection
circuit, these just keep on truckin' !! They require between 25 and 50w of
drive depending on how much you want out. They will easily do 1500w on SSB
and CW, I would keep them at a kw for digital.
I bought my 70cm amp from Steve when he offered them as kits after building
W3ZZ's. I had NEVER bought an amp, I've always built my own (and over 50 of
various types for other hams) but after building Gene's, I was so impressed
I bought one. K1RZ still uses Genes' to this day.
I would not split these up unless someone buys 144, 222 and 432 first with
a single supply, I would then sell the 50 MHz with a supply. If someone
buys all 4, I'll throw in a pair of 3CX800A7 spares.
$6000 for the lot and since they are fairly heavy, I'll meet the buyer
within 250 miles of Winchester Va. Check the price on a single band Beco
and you'll see this is a very good deal.
