[WL-USERS] Setting up a "everyday use" log

I just downloaded my copy of writelog, and have been playing around with
the different contest setup.  No problem here, so far.

What I would like to do, is also use it for my everyday contact log.
What do I have to do?  I've tried setting up a custom log, but don't
know what to do for date, time, freq and comments.  How can i get the
kenwood interface to fill in freq?  How about the computer filling in
date/time??

Any help would be appreciated.
