To One and All
This year the Radio Amateurs from Western Quebec and Eastern Ontario will
be holding Field Day at the National Museum of Science and Technology
http://www.science-tech.nmstc.ca. We plan to place special emphasis on the
Digital Modes and if everything goes according to plan and we can find the
necessary people, you should be able to find Canada's National Call Sign
VA3RAC on all bands from 160 thru 6 meters. A special certificate will be
struck and sent to all groups and individuals that work VA3RAC on 6 of the
7 bands. So get your 160 and 6 meter RTTY plans going.
All Amateurs who plan to be in the Ottawa area from the 23rd to the 25th
are invited to drop by the Museum and meet the local amateur community .
You may rest assured we will find something for you to do or a station to
operate. If you would like to visit Ottawa during Field Day, there are
many fine hotels and camp ground in the area, my personal favorite
is the Chimo Hotel www.Chimohotel.com .
There is an official FD2000 web site at www.qsl.net/fd2000 this site is
accessible in both French and English. The site is currently under
construction so place it in your book marks and visit it often.
I would like to personally thank Ron Stailey for his assistance and
generous offer to allow our group to use Writelog www.writelog.com to
get RTTY on the air during Field Day.
I will do my best to keep everyone up to date with respect to our plans to
hold a first class event on field day that will be fun and educational for
the whole family.
