I believe we are almost there! OK my computer is set for central time zone
and checked for daylight saving time so I get the message in fall and
spring. The time is set to local time and date. Down in the lower right
corner is local time and if I double click on it then I can also see
today's local date.

When I use Writelog and log stations the time is in GMT which I like. I
get the impression from what you write that this is not true and that the
only way the log times are in GMT is if I have my computer set to GMT?
This seemed to be the way it was at W7XU as I had to set his computer to
the GMT time zone and also GMT time and date to get it to log in GMT. What
is "MAGIC" that my computer is set for local all the way but logs in GMT
time and Date?

Just to be sure I am not losing it I opened WRITELOG and started a new file
and selected the ARRL VHF QSO party. I then logged a call and info and
entered it. The time is 0257z July 10, 2000 in the log. My computers time
of 9:57 p.m. July 9, 2000. I like that it did not work that way at W7XU I
would swear!
