[WriteLog] missing 1st dot

Any cure for the missing 1st dot?  I'm using a Collins 30L1 w/ my FT-900 
and TR swithing is so slow that the 1st dot or dash is missed.  

What I did temporarily was to use WL's CW PTT (rig command) option and 
placed 2 or more spaces on each CW message.  Works ok but I can't use 
Alt-K to send from the keyboard.
