[WriteLog] Every contest I learn something new.

All,
I use AFSK; and I know Bill, W9OL, uses FSK. I also used RITTY by K6STI
with WL.

Thanks Don. I don't see any color change on the outgoing text; it just
stops (freezes and diddles). But, as you mentioned, I could very well be
hitting some key or other. But I usually have a hand on the mouse and left
hand on the F keys to control the running process. Single radio so 2 hands
are OK :-)) I will continue to monitor the condition and see if I can spot
some pattern.

And I will try your suggested format for the INSERT and PLUS keying. I am
an ex CT user and that format plus the F2 exchange, F3 QRZ sequence is what
I currently use. I did get a copy of the FKeys program by WB6BIG
(http://www.wb6big.net/fkeys.htm) which I will set up and try in the next
contest. That looks very interesting and I will try to set up a "mouse
only" sequence for the routine exchange process.

Bill, I use the mouse to select the call as I often see a partially decoded
call highlighted and can trap a "better" version when I use a mouse... eg:
KC8BI/4 highlighted as KC8BI (only). I also get this with Rick, W4UEF,
where W4UE is in my master.cal database and that is what is highlighted.
But I am updating the master.cal data as I encounter new calls and learn how
WL behaves. I do like the key combination for call capture/exchange and
QRZ/log and will set up the writelog.ini file accordingly.

I will also experiment with moving the cursor off the RST field as I jammed
that field several times in this contest with one digit of the serial number
by accident. When that happened, any corrections I tried to make forced the
RST field to 2 digits. I was really confused until I stopped trying to
correct it and used the edit QSO function later (on the fly).

Overall, the program is working quite well and seems to improve as the
operator spends more time with it ... :-)) and "reads the directions"
