Hi Group,

I am really getting excited about the RTTY Dayton Gathering this year. While
it is always fun when we get together and discuss RTTY, friends, and family,
this year is especially going to be a blast for me! And, it is almost here!

So, what is so special about this year?

First, I quite enjoy the RTTY Group. I especially enjoy the stories and
'tales'. Some get started on Thursday when we all gather for some
refreshments at Rockie's in the Holidome. Our group has told some good ones,
esp from our Bud from Texas K5DJ.

Second, I already know I will enjoy my stay at the RTTY Group's Holidome. If
I want to make my way to the resturant, the Rockie's Bar, or from my room to
the Hospitality suite, I can direct (or redirect) myself easily in that
direction. The staff is always very curtious and helpful. And, we can't go
wrong since Dale W6IWO is heading up the rooms for us again this year. This
hotel has rekindled our groupd tradions.

Third, and my XYL will be surprised it is not first!. The food at our RTTY
dinners is fantastic. Traditionally, we are really treated to an excellent
dinners at both the DX/Contestor's Friday Night Dinner and the Saturday
Night RTTY Journal Dinner. There is nothing better to me than to have a
excellent meal and hear a presentation about RTTY. This year Jay and Betsy
WS7I/WV7Y have taken on the Friday night dinner. Friday we will hear about
the EA8 Contest
by Tim Totten, N4GN. Saturday we are all going to really enjoy the RTTY
Journal Dinner with a presentation on a DXpedition to VP5RY by John WA9ALS.

Fourth, Did I mention the stories and tales? After dinner we all head up to
the hospitality suite. If you hear it called the 'hosility' suite, that is
because of the S/N ratio from the stories that are told. What fun that is.
And, there is certainly some down time that we quietly enjoy some
conversation with our friends, too. But, I do enjoy the 'tales'.

Lastly, it is the conversation and helpfulness of our RTTY 'contacts' that
come throughout the year that I enjoy. I have made some lifelong friends at
this gathering. This is something special about this group that I quite
enjoy and keeps me looking forward to the next. There are new people that
join the group every year. And, I get to hear those stories told again. :-)

So, if you haven't made your reservations yet, I sure hope you will not
delay any longer. If you need reservations or rooms, contact us directly
(below), fill out your reservations form, and send it in. If you have any
questions, please let me know. I look forward to seeing you there!
