[WriteLog] Sound Card Survey Results

Well, I -think- the sound card page is successful!  It now shows cards from
a number of manufacturers, including Analog Devices, AOpen, Avance Logic,
Creative, Crystal, Digital Research Technologies, Integrated sound of Dell
precision workstation, Mozart, Neomagic Audio, VIA Technologies, and Yamaha.
The most disappointing result was the integrated sound of the Dell Precision
Workstation - 61.  According to the Dell web site, this system uses
"Integrated Analog Devices AD1885 AC'97 audio".  You can get Soundblaster
Live! Value card as a $79 option (7f)!

The bottom line so far is that ALMOST ALL THE CARDS/SYSTEMS GET THE 7f score
on the Writelog soundboard checker!  Caveat - One user got very different
scores using 2 different versions of the soundboard checker - Please make
sure you have the latest version if you submit a report.

If you find yourself contemplating a computer with a sound system/card that
gets less than 7f, be wary and write to the poster listed with the
problematic card and double check how the score was determined, i.e. did he
use the latest soundchecker program?

is not listed.  (Not all submissions are listed due to duplication, e.g.
SB16 ISA!)
