[WriteLog] Serial Port CW - Choppy CW?

CT runs under DOS while Writelog runs under Windows, a multi-tasking O/S.
With multi-tasking comes sharing of resources and the more "programs"
running in a multi-tasking environment, the more you'll experience switching
slowdowns. If you forfeit some of the programs running in the taskbar that
aren't necessary to run Writelog, you'll find the program features all run a
lot faster and smoother, including the CW from serial or parallel ports.
Current day CPU speeds and an overkill amount of RAM can help to mask the
problem, but with multi-tasking chores minimized, Writelog works just fine
with even modest systems of 300Mhz. CPU's and 64Mhz. of RAM. Try doing
"Cntrl" + "Alt" + "Delete" to bring up task manager just to see how many
unnecessary tasks you have running and select one by one that you don't
really need and select "End Task" for that "program". A bit of housecleaning
can make your PC seem twice as fast just by allowing some CPU "breathing
room" by maximizing available system resources. BEWARE that there are some
items that must run in the background and are part of Windows itself. If you
"end" these tasks, you will also stop Windows functionality. Do not "End
Task" on "Explorer" or "Systray". Most everything else except Writelog can
go while using only writelog. Most people have no idea how much stuff they
have constantly multi-tasking and sharing resources in the background. Task
Manager can be an eye opener as to why the system seems sluggish or the CW
is choppy, etc.
